Christopher Lee Guild

Christopher Lee Guild

An evening of classical and contemporary piano music performed by a talented young Scottish pianist. As well as some familiar and some less well-known 19th and 20th century French and English music, Christopher will perform new work by Robert Fields, a composer whom we welcome as a new Caithness resident.

Christopher Lee Guild was born in Morayshire, and in recent times has been hailed as one of Scotland’s most promising young talents. He began his musical education aged 7 and entered St Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh 6 years later.

By the age of 16, he had already become the youngest ever outright winner of the Moray Piano Competition. Since then he has performed throughout the United Kingdom, most recently at the Malcolm Arnold festival where he gave the World Premier of Arnold’s Flamenco for solo piano.

For his recital at Lyth Christopher will perform the following:

    • Beethoven, Sonata No. 23 in F minor, Op. 57 (1804/5)
    • Gabriel Fau
