Carol Kidd and Band

Carol Kidd and Band “Carol Kidd and Band”,
Jazz.

Sunday, 13th June, 8pm, 2 hours including interval, age 14+

Carol KiddCarol came to Lyth in 1986 when her career was just beginning to
take off in a big way. She set the standard for all the jazz
vocalists who have subsequently come our way. Since then she has
recorded at least a dozen albums and performed world-wide. It is
almost impossible to name a Scottish jazz musician of similar
stature. Her MBE says everything. This is a treat!

Carol is well known as a bit of a rogue when it comes to her stage
performances (she refers to herself as a hooligan and usually performs
in bare feet) which makes for great entertainment. But her
performances swoop from moments of hilarity to moments of the purist
vocal beauty.

Carols's band musiciains are a dream line-up:

Nigel Clark – guitar

Paul Harrison – piano

Mario Caribé – bass

Alyn Cosker – drums

  1. Never having heard Carol Kidd I was delighted by an amazing voice and a great evening. The band were great and there was a lot of interaction between Carol and the boys. I really enjoyed the songs with just the bass or guitar or piano accompanying too. I’m a fan!

  2. Yet another amazing night at Lyth! I attended Carol’s first performance at the centre and was delighted to see and hear her again. And she sung my favourite “When I Dream” with such feeling…..delightful.
